Open Positions
Building genuine connections
Thereโs a special energy that comes from stepping out of the daily grind and connecting as peopleโnot just colleagues. At Abode, connection isnโt simply encouraged; itโs something we actively cultivate. Through shared celebrations, competitive music and fantasy leagues, cherished company traditions, and hands-on community service, we create opportunities that bring us together and remind us why our culture truly matters.
Family and community gatherings
Each year, we host the Kimball Farms Family Gathering, bringing together family and friends for a day filled with food, games, and camaraderie. This event is especially meaningful as it allows us to witness the growth of our team and their families. For our predominantly virtual team, itโs one of the occasions to meet face-to-face and deepen personal connections.
The role of the Culture Club
Our Culture Club is a lively mix of colleagues who volunteer their time to enrich our work environment. Meeting every two weeks, the group plans company outings, organizes casual after-work meetups, and arranges in-office celebrations. Their efforts help keep the spirit of our culture vibrant and engaging throughout the year.
Giving back through service
Living out our core values also means giving back to the community. During our annual Day of Service, we roll up our sleeves and get involved. In 2025, for example, we partnered with The Food Project in Lincoln, where we reshaped garden beds, cleared weeds, hauled mulch, and harvested fresh vegetables for inner-city communities.
Staying connected remotely
As a mostly remote team, we use Teams channels to stay connected beyond work tasks. We share recommendations for songs or movies in our โMedia Worth Consideringโ channel and use the โNot Work Relatedโ channel to talk about sports events, seek suggestions for day hikes or local restaurants, and share other personal interests. These channels help maintain a sense of camaraderie even when we are physically apart.
The heart of our culture
At the core of all our traditions, gatherings, and daily interactions lies a simple truth: our culture is not an afterthoughtโit is the foundation of who we are. It influences how we support one another, collaborate, and remain connected, regardless of distance. At Abode, we nurture and protect our culture with intention, knowing it transforms a remote team into a true community. This commitment keeps us grounded, adaptable, energized, and continually growing together.
Last week, Abode was proud to serve as the Sustainability Sponsor for @newomeninee `s Women Shaping the Agenda held at Northeastern University, The Roux Institute, in Portland, Maine.
A big thank you to Rouwenna Altemose of All In Energy for leading the conversation, and to panelists Tina Bennett of PowerOptions, Inc., Sara Harari of the @ConnecticutGreenBank, Chiderah Okoye of Transform Power Systems, and Heather Sanborn of the Maine Office of the Public Advocate for sharing their perspectives on building resilience while keeping affordability at the forefront. It was an engaging discussion with practical insights that will continue to shape our work.
Thank you to New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) for another outstanding gathering and for continuing to create space for women to lead, connect, and help shape the future of energy.

The best measure of our growth isn`t just the size of our team; it`s the people who make it what it is.
This past weekend, Abode staff and their families gathered for our annual summer outing at Kimball Farm. It was a chance to reconnect, catch up, and celebrate another year together.
CEO Dave Boettcher joked that there were more kids in attendance than there were employees when the company began. Then he shared what makes him most proud: not how much we`ve grown, but how we`ve grown.
Whether we`re hearing it from partners, clients, or others across the industry, one thing comes up again and again: the people at Abode are thoughtful, committed, and kind.
That`s the culture we`ve worked hard to build, and it only happens because of the incredible people on our team and the families who support them every day.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and thank you for the work you do to strengthen our communities, support one another, and make Abode such a special place.

We are thrilled to announce that Logan Ziegler will be bringing his energy and enthusiasm to our team full time as our new Policy and Operations Specialist. He started with us last year as a Policy Intern and stayed on part time through the year as he completed his senior year at Boston College.
In this role, Logan will be tracking, analyzing, and engaging with local, state, and federal policies that impact building decarbonization, electrification, and clean energy markets. He will work cross functionally with program delivery teams to ensure policy developments are informing business development, program design, and thought leadership efforts. He will also support special projects.
Welcome Logan!

What makes @aespinfo Northeast so special? According to our CEO and Founder Dave Boettcher`s opening remarks, itโs the opportunity to be surrounded by our local, familiar community of collaborators, all committed to moving this decarbonization work forward.
And as it turns out, kayaking in Maine makes for a pretty great team builder too.
The conversations throughout the event reinforced the momentum weโre seeing across the New England electrification market. From utilities and program partners to local experts and implementers, thereโs a shared focus on practical, impactful solutions and the collaboration needed to move them forward.
Weโre proud to be the Lead Sponsor and grateful to AESP Northeast for creating a space where networking turns into collaboration; conversations turn into action, and relationships continue to drive real impact.
Weโre already looking forward to next year.

The #AbodeTeam headed to Kings for a night of bowling, Trivial Pursuit, and a little healthy competition. Some people came ready to dominate, some needed the bumpers, and somehow Justin Bolam walked away as the crowd-voted MVP of the night.
It was also great to have newer team members Ella Mure and Hannah Mermin join in and get to know everyone outside the day-to-day work.
At Abode, the work we do together matters. But so do the relationships behind it. Taking time to connect outside of meetings, deadlines, and projects helps build the kind of culture where people genuinely enjoy working together, and that shows up in the work too.

We had an incredible evening at the NEWIEE Annual Awards Gala last week, celebrating alongside so many inspiring women in energy and environment, including our very own Kristin Dupre, who proudly serves as a Board Member and Treasurer; and Megan Atkinson and Kenna Lauer who serve as NEWIEE Boston Chapter Co-Chairs.
Abode was proud to support this event as the Sustainability Sponsor because building a cleaner energy future also means building a stronger, more connected community of leaders shaping it.
Abode in attendance: Megan Atkinson, Dave Boettcher, Katie Daly, Sarah Doherty, Frances Duncan, Kristin Dupre, Christopher Haringa, Kenna Lauer, Portia Lee-Lee, and Elizabeth Stagg

@neseaorgโs BuildingEnergy Boston brought together practitioners focused on practical solutions, open exchange, and steady progress across the clean energy community. The โDonโt Stop Us Now!โ theme reflected the emphasis on learning from one anotherโthrough sessions, conversations, and shared experience.
We were glad to take part, including the session on connecting the dots for small residential decarbonization. Thanks as well to everyone who stopped by our booth to connect.
We appreciate the opportunity to be part of this yearโs event and look forward to continuing the conversation.
