How do we make whole-home decarbonization work at scale?
That`s the question Abode`s Kristin Dupre will explore at the 2026 @aceeedc Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, presenting research co-authored by Abode Energy Management and the @masscec
Drawing from two Massachusetts pilot programs, the research examines what`s needed to help homeowners navigate multi-year, whole-home decarbonization. It also explores how we can move beyond individual energy efficiency upgrades to coordinated, long-term planning that delivers better outcomes for homeowners, contractors, and energy programs alike.
If you`re attending Summer Study, join us to learn how these Massachusetts pilots are helping shape a more scalable path to residential decarbonization.

You never know which conversation will spark a future career.
Last week, Abode`s Mike Simons had the opportunity to spend time with students in the Renewable Futures Lab, a hands-on career exploration program developed by @projectlearn_inc in partnership with Lowell Public Schools and supported by @masscec and Sewa International.
At Abode, we believe the clean energy transition isn`t just about better buildings. It`s about building the next generation of people who will lead this work. That`s why opportunities like Renewable Futures Lab matter. By giving students real-world experiences and connecting them with industry professionals, we`re helping them discover careers they may never have imagined.
We love to be around curious learners, answering questions, and hopefully inspiring a few future decarbonization leaders along the way.

Electric Coaches are already making a difference in their communities. Theyโre helping neighbors understand heat pump quotes, answering questions about going electric, connecting people with resources, and sharing what theyโve learned.
But their voices can have an even bigger impact.
On Tuesday, July 21, Electric Coach alumni are invited to join in for an interactive workshop focused on policy and how coaches can use their voices to support clean energy initiatives at the national, state, and local levels.
Together, weโll explore the Homegrown Energy Report, talk about current policy initiatives, and look at practical ways Electric Coaches can flex their civic muscles and help move the work upstream.
Whether you see yourself as a Connector, Guide, Leader, or a little bit of all three, we hope youโll join us.

Today`s introduction could become tomorrow`s career.
This summer, Abode`s own Mike Simons is excited to join @projectlearn_inc Renewable Futures Lab, a hands-on career exploration program introducing Lowell Public Schools students to the growing world of clean energy and sustainability.
Students learn directly from professionals working in the field as they dive into the science behind how homes use energy; exploring heat transfer, insulation, weatherization, and energy audits.
We`re looking forward to sharing what we do, answering questions, and hopefully inspiring a few future decarbonization leaders along the way.

Housing affordability and energy affordability go hand in hand.
Abodeโs Christopher Haringa recently joined leaders from across Western Massachusetts at the Housing and Energy Affordability in Western Massachusetts event hosted by @mass.housing. Conversations centered on a critical question: How can we make homes healthier, more comfortable, and more affordable for the people who need them most?
The day included a tour of an innovative deep energy retrofit project at Treehouse at Easthampton Meadow; a 60-unit affordable rental housing community serving older adults and children who have been through the child welfare system and the families who are parenting them.
The tour was followed by discussions on financing, home improvements, and the partnerships needed to bring long-term energy savings to communities across the region.
For us, the biggest takeaway was clear: meaningful progress happens when housing organizations, financing partners, utilities, nonprofits, and implementation experts come together around practical solutions.
Thank you to @treehousefoundation1 , @valleycdc , @beaconcommunities CET, and Treehouse residents for sharing their expertise and commitment to building a future where energy-efficient homes are accessible to more families across Massachusetts.

What happens when window heat pumps move from pilot projects to large-scale multifamily deployment?
Thatโs the conversation Abode Energy Management will be bringing to this yearโs Building Performance Association 2026 Clean Energy for Homes Conference & Trade Show in Saratoga Springs this week.
Kristin Dupre, VP of Strategy & Partnerships at Abode, will join Jesse Mastro of Envr Air and Tony Shay of Gradient for the panel:
โWindow Heat Pumps at Scale: A New Pathway for Multifamily Electrification.โ
The session will explore lessons learned from one of the largest window heat pump installations in the United States to date through the Clean Heat Rhode Island (CHRI) program, where 277 Gradient all-weather 120V window heat pumps were deployed across a 15-story low-income senior housing building in Providence, RI.
From implementation logistics and resident experience to building performance and scalability, the panel will focus on what it actually takes to electrify occupied multifamily buildings in the real world.
Looking forward to the conversations ahead with contractors, utilities, program leaders, manufacturers, and implementation partners from across the region.

Not all coaches are on the court. Some are helping their neighbors make smarter, more confident energy decisions at home.
Through the Rewiring America Electric Coach program, people across the country are learning what electrifying a home really means and how to help others take that next step. From answering a neighborโs question to connecting someone with a trusted contractor, small conversations can lead to real change.
Our very own Frances Duncan is one of these coaches, working with residents every day to make clean energy more understandable and accessible.
Now, you can join her.
