Not all coaches are on the court. Some are helping their neighbors make smarter, more confident energy decisions at home.
Through the Rewiring America Electric Coach program, people across the country are learning what electrifying a home really means and how to help others take that next step. From answering a neighbor’s question to connecting someone with a trusted contractor, small conversations can lead to real change.
Our very own Frances Duncan is one of these coaches, working with residents every day to make clean energy more understandable and accessible.
Now, you can join her.

We kicked off the first of our 5-part training series with Boston’s Inspection Supervisors the best way possible: on site—showing how Boston’s oldest buildings can modernize for another century.
Led by our Training Manager Edith Buhs, Decarbonization Program Manager William D`Arrigo, and Kristen Simmons from the @cityofboston Mayor’s Office of Housing, the group toured a Jamaica Plain triple-decker in mid-upgrade—seeing firsthand how historic Boston homes can evolve to meet today’s energy, safety, and comfort needs. This tour grounded the series in real buildings and real people.
As the training continues, inspectors will build practical skills around efficient, low-pollution technologies—helping seniors and lower-income residents stay safe, comfortable, and secure, while ensuring upgrades are done right.

We love when community, learning, and climate action come together.
Abode is proud to partner with @tremont.school and the Rotary Club of Concord on a yearlong recycling challenge that puts students in the driver’s seat of real environmental impact. Together, they’re working toward collecting 1,000 pounds of recyclable plastic—and turning it into something tangible: a bench made entirely from recycled materials.
This project isn’t just about recycling. It’s about empowering young leaders, strengthening local partnerships, and showing how small, consistent actions can add up to meaningful change. From learning how to identify recyclable plastics to seeing their efforts literally take shape, these students are building lifelong habits rooted in stewardship and community care.
At Abode, we believe climate solutions are strongest when they’re local, collaborative, and accessible—and this is a perfect example of that in action. Here’s to students leading the way and communities coming together to support them.
