programs we support
For Boston’s Healthy & Green Homes effort, Abode acts as Building Science Facilitator and Technical Consultant, layering comprehensive assessments, combustion safety, resilience checks, and retrofit roadmaps onto a structured project-management cadence. The outcome is a guided path from discovery to construction close-out—tighter scopes, better sequencing with Mass Save/CAP resources, and post-work QA that documents health, comfort, and emissions improvements for city evaluation.
City of Cambridge
Rhode Island Office Energy Resources
As Lead Vendor to the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, Abode administers Clean Heat RI’s residential offerings, combining consultations, contractor network management, and QA with partner coordination. The program’s outcomes are visible in easier pathways for both income-eligible and market-rate participants, better pairing of incentives with homeowner needs, and installs that reflect manufacturer and design best practices—accelerating clean-heat adoption statewide.
Eversource and Avangrid
Under Energize CT, Abode delivers a statewide “concierge” model for heat-pump adoption with virtual consultations, a standardized quote-comparison process, and contractor management. This support structure helps customers interpret options, aligns installs with best practices, and feeds continuous learning back to market actors—leading to more complete scopes, cleaner installs, and higher satisfaction across Connecticut’s residential market.
Abode co-implements the Home Modernization Navigator in Springfield and Lowell, centering renters, moderate-income, and EJ communities. Abode’s technical advising, tooling, and reporting—paired with bilingual outreach—produce outcomes such as clearer, culturally accessible decision pathways, smoother handoffs to contractors and financing, and documented lessons learned that MassCEC can use to refine and scale customer-friendly decarbonization services.
As Lead Technical Consultant and Implementer, Abode designed the assessment protocols, recommendation framework, and planning tool used across pilot cohorts to provide participants with decarbonization assessments and plans to prioritize multiple projects over time. Outcomes include a repeatable, equity-aware assessment model, homeowner-ready plans to drive carbon reduction, energy efficiency, improved comfort, and health and safety improvements, and scalable components for program incorporation.
Mass Housing
For the Energy Saver Home Loan program (ESHLP), Abode is the technical implementer providing in-home decarbonization assessments, planning support, and coordination with contractors and financing. The program’s impact is felt in comprehensive “whole-home” scopes that blend weatherization, electrification, and health and safety upgrades—helping low- and moderate-income households move from plans to funded projects with fewer roadblocks and more durable, comfort-forward outcomes.
National Grid and Eversource
Abode is the Lead Vendor for the Home Performance Contractor (HPC) path within Mass Save’s Residential Turnkey Program, overseeing contractor networks, conducting QA for decarbonization assessments and weatherization, managing barrier-mitigation workflows, and overseeing day-to-day program operations. The work translates into smoother customer journeys from intake through installation, more consistent field quality, and stronger contractor performance management—driving projects to completion while protecting program compliance and customer safety.
Massachusetts Program Administrators
As the implementer for Mass Save’s Heating & Cooling Initiative, Abode provides decarbonization consulting, quote reviews, training, and QA protocols that guide homeowners from early questions to confident, quality installations. The program provides better system designs, fewer sizing and controls errors, and a more capable contractor ecosystem—so customers adopt the right solutions with fewer setbacks.
9 Massachusetts Municipal Light Plants
Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources
Within the Merrimack Valley decarbonization/relief efforts, Abode operates as the technical assistance lead alongside community partners—developing protocols, training energy specialists, and supporting barrier mitigation and QA. The practical outcome is that impacted households receive end-to-end planning and technical advocacy, enabling safer, higher-quality retrofits and a clearer path to “electrification-ready” homes in a post-disaster context.
Abode collaborates with Rewiring America to provide a four-week training series designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to help households transition to clean energy solutions. The program is perfect for those who want to speak confidently with friends, neighbors and community members about heat pumps, home electrification, and decarbonization. Participants will learn best practices for sharing accurate information and guiding others toward resources and next steps based on their goals. The course is delivered through live, interactive cohorts, offering a collaborative learning experience alongside peers from across the country.
