Abode Energy Management (Abode) provides no-cost consultations to RMLD customers. Your specialist will guide you through the RMLD heat pump and weatherization program, providing project support as you evaluate your options and next steps. Completing the no-cost consultation is the required first step to accessing RMLD incentives.

Customers are required to work with an approved weatherization contractor to qualify for RMLD incentives. Abode will provide the approved contractor list after the required consultation is complete. Approved weatherization contractors help determine exactly what weatherization improvements should be made to the home. Participating weatherization contractors follow standardized scoping guidelines and pricing aligned with statewide programs, ensuring customers only need to receive one comprehensive work scope. Abode will review the project for approval before installation starts.

Weatherization requirements apply to insulation, ventilation, and air sealing measures only.

The Whole-Home Zero-Interest Loan Incentive application must be completed by the homeowner BEFORE heat pump project installation. After you have chosen which heat pump quote or proposal you plan to move forward with, submit this program application before you install the heat pump system to make sure that you meet the program requirements.
Be prepared to submit the following with your application, many of which can be provided by your selected installer:

• Date on which you had an Abode virtual consult
• Weatherization quote/proposal
• Heat pump quote/proposal
• AHRI number for each heat pump system being installed
• Room by Room Manual J Calculation showing proposed system(s) are designed to condition 100% of the home’s living space by volume and supply between 90-120% of the heating load at the correct design temperature for the home’s location.
• Home energy audit if applicable and available

PLEASE NOTE: Do not initiate work or installation of weatherization measures and heat pump(s) until you receive preliminary approval of your Incentive application from BOTH RMLD and Abode. The installation of heat pump systems must be completed within the 60-day loan commitment window before the loan can be closed. Your rebate will not be fully processed and approved until the RMLD/Abode reviews the Post-Installation QA Form submitted by your installer. Additionally, the contractor must ensure that the Town Wiring Inspection is completed and reported to RMLD.

The Install QA Form must be completed after install by the contractor. In addition to requiring information on the home and the installed system(s), the form also requires a paid invoice and photos of the installed equipment.
Note: Participating weatherization contractors must complete a separate post-installation quality report. Weatherization work may be subject to an on-site inspection.
