Melanie has worked in several roles and different programs during her time at Abode. Currently, as a Residential Decarbonization Advisor, she provides consultation services to help Massachusetts residents navigate the many energy efficiency opportunities, programs, and financing available to them. She provides technical based guidance to help customers develop a plan to improve their home’s energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve their comfort. Melanie is excited that that also means we are helping residents and communities decarbonize and electricity to reduce their impact on our shared environment. Melanie comes to Abode with an educational background in mechanical engineering, and a wide range of experience as a mechanical and commissioning engineer, a solar designer, and over a decade as a home energy auditor and HERS rater. Having performed over a thousand energy efficiency related inspections, she experienced many opportunities to teach homeowners and contractors how to improve a home’s comfort and performance. At Abode, Melanie continues that passion for teaching in her consultation role. Beyond her passions for energy efficiency, Melanie enjoys all things outdoors and spending time with family & friends. Camping and snowboarding are her favorites, but she also loves exploring and experiencing new places and food.
