If you heat your home with natural gas

If you heat your home with oil, electricity, or propane
For customers who do not heat with gas, NMLD provides no-cost home energy assessments and rebates for eligible weatherization improvements.
Rebate process
STEP 1: HOME ENERGY ASSESSMENT
A no-cost home energy assessment must be completed within the last two years. Schedule a home energy assessment with an auditor.
STEP 2: SCOPING VISIT
Work with a contractor to determine exactly what weatherization improvements can be made to the home. Participating contractors have agreed to provide standardized weatherization recommendations and pricing consistent with statewide programs. Participating contractors also adhere to the required quality assurance and rebate processes. You are not required to work with a participating contractor.
STEP 3: QUALITY ASSURANCE REVIEW
If working with a participating contractor
Your contractor will submit a virtual quality assurance form to Abode with project documentation and photos of the completed work. Abode will review the submission and approve it remotely if possible, or will schedule an in-home inspection and work with the contractor to resolve any work issues if needed.
If working with a non-participating contractor
Contact Abode to schedule an in-home weatherization inspection with an Abode inspector.
STEP 4: REBATE APPLICATION
The online rebate application must be completed by the homeowner or contractor following install. The form will ask for an invoice for the job, which can be obtained by the contractor.
